Longtime Resident Joins the Clarksville Police Department

CLARKSVILLE, IN (October 22, 2024) – A longtime resident of the Town of Clarksville is now working to keep our community safe.  Austin Johnson was born and raised in Clarksville, attended Clarksville Community Schools, competed in athletics for the Generals, and graduated in 2013.  He was sworn-in as the town’s newest police officer during a recent meeting of the Clarksville Town Council.

“We are always excited to welcome a new officer to our ranks, but it is even more special when it is a local Clarksville kid returning home to serve his community,” said Clarksville Police Chief Nathan Walls.

Officer Johnson spent the last three years working as a police officer for the City of Louisville.  During his time across the Ohio River, Officer Johnson received 8 letters of commendation, and was nominated for LMPD’s Exceptional Merit Award.
