Previously held elected office: Greater Clark County Schools Board – 2 Terms

Why did you decide to run for this office?
“I ran for the Town Council because I sincerely believe that elected officials must serve by listening to those who put them in office. A vote for me will give all residents a voice. The decisions I will make on the council will be based on the following: Will my decision help our town to prosper, keep it safe, sustain its beautiful green space, or focus on the betterment of our neighborhoods?; Ensure citizen input.”“

What do you believe is the biggest challenge facing the Town of Clarksville, and what would you do to address it if elected?
“One of our biggest challenges will be to maintain our community and neighborhoods in a way that our residents desire. This with include maintaining our Clarksville history, ensuring we put our neighborhoods first as we develop for the future. I will achieve this by being a voice for all residents of Clarksville. In all I do I will: put people/residents first; deliver excellence in all I do; constantly connect with our community; always strive to add value to our town.”

What are your goals for the office?
“If elected, I will bring a seasoned leader to the Town Council. My goals are very simple. In a political environment that is sometimes led by personal agendas and the lack of transparency our community needs a leader who will listen to and serve all residents. I will use my professional experiences, my education, and my proven record of bipartisan service to our community and state to guide me in an effort to move our community to new heights.”

What experience do you have that makes you the best candidate for the position?
“My education, work experience and elected experience stands out to show my qualifications to be a great candidate for our Town Council.
Education: 1990 Graduate of the University of Louisville with a Degree in Education. Community Service: Founding member and past president of the Clarksville Rotary Club, Greater Clark County School Board (served 8 years), Indiana Standards Board Member, Clark County Youth Coalition (Past President).” Work History: Associate Executive Director Southern Indiana YMCA, Redevelopment Director City of Charlestown, Facilities Manager Green Tree Mall – Centennial. Together we can unite our community around a common vision for smart growth, transparency, and a common sense approach to governing and fiscal leadership.”

What do you think is the most important skill someone needs to fill the office you are running for?
“I sincerely believe that an elected official should serve, listen to, and support all residents of Clarksville. Together, we can insist that our leaders communicate with all citizens and operate in an environment of fairness and transparency.”

What distinguishes you from your opponent?
“I believe my leadership and involvement in our community sets me apart. I have the education, elected experience and service for others that can not be ignored. I have the ability to connect people from all walks of life to serve and better our community. A vote for Bob McEwen gives you a voice that will always be heard on the Council.”

If there was one thing that you could change about the Town of Clarksville, what would it be?
“I would like to work to ensure residents have a say in how our community is developed and improved over time, while being mindful of our history and our neighborhoods.”
