CLARKSVILLE, IN (April 21, 2022) – Officials in Floyd County have alerted the Town of Clarksville that they will be shutting down the Blackiston Mill Road Bridge over Silver Creek on Thursday, April 28th from 10:00am-3:00pm. The closure is anticipation of a bridge inspection that will be taking place that day.

The Blackiston Mill Road Bridge was recently closed for several days after a large chunk of the bridge broke apart, exposing a large hole. The hole was temporarily repaired and covered with a large metal plate. Although the bridge connects Clarksville to New Albany, the bridge is actually owned and maintained by the Floyd County Highway Department.
