Touch-A-Truck and Movie in the Park Brings Clarksville Families Together for a Fun Evening

Clarksville families had the chance to climb, explore, play and spend an evening together during this year’s Touch-A-Truck and Movie in the Park put on by Clarksville Parks and Recreation.

The event brought an impressive collection of vehicles and equipment together in one place, giving children an up-close look at some of the trucks and machines they often see working throughout the community.

Visitors were able to explore everything from fire and emergency vehicles to a school bus, construction and heavy equipment, service vehicles and other specialized trucks. Rather than simply seeing the vehicles from a distance, children had the opportunity to meet the people who operate them, ask questions and get a closer look at how the equipment works.

The event also included plenty of activities beyond the vehicles. Families enjoyed inflatable attractions, community booths and other hands-on activities throughout the evening. At one station, children were even invited to leave their own colorful artwork and signatures on a piece of equipment on display.

Touch-A-Truck gives local departments, organizations and community partners a unique opportunity to introduce families to the work they do every day. For children especially, it provides a chance to see the equipment they may recognize from around town while meeting the people behind the wheel.

After an afternoon of exploring, families settled in to enjoy Movie in the Park, wrapping up the evening with a movie under the stars.

Events like this are about more than providing something fun to do. They create opportunities for residents to spend time together, meet the people and organizations that serve Clarksville and build stronger connections throughout the community.

The Town of Clarksville would like to thank every department, organization, community partner and crew that brought vehicles, equipment and activities to the event. Their participation helped create an experience families could enjoy together.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who joined us. We are grateful to see so many families come out for another great evening in Clarksville.
