CLARKSVILLE, IN (April 12, 2024) – The Jeffersonville Township Public Library’s Summer Reading Program begins on May 20 and runs through July 31. This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins At Your Library.” The program will take place at both the Clarksville and Jeffersonville Libraries. Early registration begins online on May 13th, and you will be able to sign up by clicking here. Those who register between May 13th and 19th will be entered to win a prize.
Youth ages 0 – 18 read (or are read to), then log their books/time to earn prizes along the way. Those who complete the program will be entered to win larger prizes. The program isn’t just for kids; there is an adult program, too! Adults read four books and receive a goody bag. Adults who read more will earn entries into prize drawings.
The Summer Reading Kickoff event will be held on Monday, May 20, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at both library locations. Sign up for the program and enjoy pizza, snacks, and activities. The Friends of the Library book sale room will open at the Jeffersonville location. Enjoy a pop-up book sale at the Clarksville Library. The Kickoff events are for all ages.
This summer, both the Clarksville and Jeffersonville libraries will host a variety of free programs. For families, they include the Hedgehog Hannah Animal Show, Professor Steve’s Science Show, the Louisville Orchestra, the Roz Puppets, storytimes, teen programs, and more. Adult programs include Jeffersonville resident Daniel Boone’s travel to Vietnam, art exhibition and reception, geocaching, and more.
