Summer Fun for Kids, Teens, and Adults at the Clarksville Library

CLARKSVILLE, IN (June 6, 2022) – The Jeffersonville Township Public Library is kicking off the summer with a schedule of fun events for kids, teens, and adults. All of the events listed below will be held at the Clarksville branch, located at 1312 Eastern Boulevard, except for Storytime in the Park. All events are free and open to the public. STORYTIME IN THE PARK – THURSDAY, JUNE 9 – 10:30AM-11:00AM – *GATEWAY PARK
The Clarksville Library and Clarksville Parks Department are teaming up this summer to offer Storytime in the Park. These story times will take place in Clarksville on June 9 and July 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Gateway Park located at 500 Little League Blvd. This story time is for children four and under and includes stories, songs, and activities. Join us for a morning of learning and fun and be sure to check out the park’s playground and splash pad!

CAMP CRAFTERNOON – FRIDAY, JUNE 10 – 1:30PM-2:30PM
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library invites you to Camp Crafternoon on Friday, June 10, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Clarksville location. Camp Crafternoon is an afternoon of camp-themed crafts for children in grades K-5. Ladybugs, bandanas, and glowing fireflies are just a few of the crafts we will make. CROCHETING AT THE LIBRARY – FRIDAY, JUNE 17 – 11:00AM-12:00PM
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library will be hosting a crocheting class on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Clarksville Library. Whether you are an experienced crocheter who needs help with a certain technique or a novice crocheter just beginning, this class is for you! Fiber Artist, Kim Lillis, is the class instructor.

PRINCESS KARAOKE PARTY – FRIDAY, JUNE 17 – 1:00PM-2:00PM
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library invites you to a Princess Karaoke Party on Friday, June 17, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Clarksville location. Dress up as your favorite princess and join Mrs. Q for some dancing and singing fun! Participants will create a bejeweled crown, and then the fun really begins! The princesses will get to choose their favorite princess song from a list of 120 songs! There will be plenty of moving and grooving! This event is for children in grades K-3 and requires registration.

MOVIE DAY – SATURDAY, JUNE 18 – 2:00PM
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library will host a Feature Film on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Clarksville Library. The film will feature two top Hollywood actors teaming up as treasure hunters searching for Ferdinand Magellan’s fortune lost 500 years ago. Viewers can expect action, adventure, and some comedy.

SILLY SAFARI – MONDAY, JUNE 20 – 12:30PM-1:30PM
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library invites you to Silly Safaris on Monday, June 20, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Clarksville location. Silly Safaris is a LIVE animal show that offers the perfect blend of fact and fun! There will be mammals, birds, reptiles, comedy, and audience participation. Join us for this exciting and educational family event!

TEEN SCIENCE – WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22 – 3:45PM-4:45PM
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library invites you to Teen Science on Wednesday, June 22, from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Clarksville location. This month’s teen science is going to be explosive! Join us to learn the science behind your favorite exploding experiments like the exploding lunch bag and exploding watermelon experiment. Teen Science is a STEAM-focused program for youth in grades 6-12.

HOOSIER TRUE CRIME – SATURDAY, JUNE 25 – 11:00AM-12:00PM
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library invites you to Hoosier True Crime on Saturday, June 25, from 11:00 a.m. to noon at the Clarksville location. Join us as we examine true crime cases in Indiana, both past and present. Family and Local History Librarian, Diane Stepro, will take us back in time to investigate some of the most notorious criminal cases in Hoosier history. Public Services Librarian, Nolan Brewer, will delve into more recent and infamous cases that shocked the nation. PRESCHOOL POPSICLE PARTY – THURSDAY, JUNE 30 – 10:30AM-11:30AM
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library invites you to the Preschool Popsicle Party on Thursday, June 30, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Clarksville location. Join us for fun in the sun as we cool off with a plastic fishing “pond,” bubbles, and sidewalk chalk. There will be lots of wet fun with sprinklers, a splash mat, water painting, and more. When we get tired of playing, we can have a popsicle and relax in the shade. This program is for ages 0 – 5, and parents are required to stay and share in the fun! Please register, as this is a weather permitting event.
