Clarksville Fire Dept Raises More Than $55,000 for WHAS Crusade for Children

CLARKSVILLE, IN (June 5, 2022) – The Clarksville Fire Department is continuing to provide its support to the WHAS Crusade for Children. This is the 69th year of the annual charity fundraising drive. The mission of the WHAS Crusade for Children is to make life better for children with special needs by inspiring generosity with its community partners.

The Clarksville came through as always with generous support of the Clarksville Fire Department. In total, the department has raised $55,232 this year. The department thanked the community by posting the following statement on its Facebook page:

“Clarksville Fire Department is thrilled to say that this year’s WHAS Crusade for Children drive has been a great success! Through the efforts of our firefighters, their families, volunteers, community business partners and the great citizens of Clarksville, Indiana we were able to raise over $55,232!!We did two weeks worth of roadblocks and 2 weekends knocking on doors. Chicago City Pizza in Clarksville even had some firefighters behind the counter making pizzas and donated 100% of their profits for a day! In addition, people and businesses choose to mail or deliver checks directly to the fire houses, and several of those donations are made in honor of a loved one.”

100% of each donation to the WHAS Crusade for Children helps children with special needs. Through the Crusade, the charity has changed the lives of millions of children in Kentucky and Indiana since 1954. If you didn’t get chance to make a donation, you can still do so by visiting the Crusade for Children website at whascrusade.org.
