Santa Parade Returning to Clarksville in 2022

CLARKSVILLE, IN (December 13, 2021) – Santa Claus will be making another special trip to Southern Indiana this year in hopes of bringing smiles to the children of Clarksville.  The Clarksville Fire Department will be holding it’s annual ‘Santa Parade’ this Saturday (December 17) and Sunday (December 18).

Each year more than a dozen Clarksville Firefighters and their families spend hours decorating various fire trucks and vehicles for the annual event.  When the big days arrive, Santa always makes sure to fly in and ride on one of the trucks.  Firefighters then drive through area neighborhoods spreading Christmas cheer.

“Each year around this time, the Town gets numerous phone calls, emails, and social media messages asking if the parade will be happening again this year,” said Clarksville Communications Director Ken Conklin.  “I know Chief Skaggs and his crews look forward to this each year just like our residents.”

Along with Ol’ Saint Nick, the Clarksville Fire Department also transports the Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, and various elves during the parade.  The special Christmas caravan will kick off both nights at 6:00pm at the Fire Department headquarters located on Sam Gwin Drive.  A list of the routes will be included at the bottom of this article.

This year’s parade also includes 30 minute stops at various locations around Town such as Home Depot, Kroger, Gateway Park, Return Church, and Clarkville Cove. Although Chief Skaggs would love for the parade to visit every street in Clarksville, it just isn’t possible. These stops will allow others who are not on the parade route to see Santa and his friends.
