Safety Saturday Event Scheduled for December 17th at Green Tree Mall

CLARKSVILLE, IN (December 9, 2022) – Emergency responders are known for being there for us during an emergency. Now, they are working to provide training to local residents in hopes of preventing emergency situations from happening. The annual “Safety Saturday” event is scheduled for Saturday, December 17th from 5:00-8:00pm at Clarksville’s Green Tree Mall.

Representatives from Clark County 911, Clark County Health Department, and the Clarksville Fire Department will be on hand to teach important lessons regarding things such as CPR, safe sleep, car seat safety, and much more.

“Providing educational events is very important to our community and the Clark County Action Team,” said Brandon Skaggs, Clarksville’s Fire Chief. “Our goal is to help promote safe living practices and provide resources that members of our community may not know exist. This safety fair allows the Clark County Action Team to get in touch with families and provide our services or at minimum provide resource materials.

Chief Skaggs says although the skills which will be taught during Safety Saturday will be useful all year long, this is the perfect time of year to hold the event.

“We have chosen this date, in particular, to hopefully reach an active audience during the holiday shopping season,” said Skaggs.

The Safety Saturday event will be held at Center Court in the middle of Green Tree Mall. The mall is located at 757 E. Lewis and Clark Parkway, Clarksville, IN. This event is FREE and open to everyone.
