CLARKSVILLE, IN (October 18, 2023) – The Town of Clarksville is pleased to announce a significant infrastructure enhancement project which will improve connectivity to downtown Jeffersonville. Montgomery Avenue will be closed from Marriott Drive in Clarksville to 9th Street in Jeffersonville from October 23rd through December 22nd. Crews will be installing new lighting as well as a multi-use path connecting South Clarksville to downtown Jeffersonville.

“This project is an important step in improving connectivity between our two communities,” said Ken Conklin, Communication Director for the Town of Clarksville. “This new multi-use path will provide a safe and well-lit route for pedestrians and cyclists looking to get from Jeffersonville to South Clarksville or vice versa.”

Project Details:

• Road Closure: Montgomery Avenue from Marriott Drive to 9th Street
• Closure Dates: October 23, 2023 to December 22, 2023

During the road closure, detour signs will be prominently displayed to guide motorists to alternative routes. The Town of Clarksville encourages residents to plan their routes accordingly and allow additional travel time as necessary. Any updates on the project will be posted on the Town website and social media channels.
