From Cub Scout to Eagle: Ryan Bucy Honors Clarksville’s First Responders

Clarksville resident Ryan Bucy is turning years of Scouting into a project that will leave a lasting impact on the community.

Ryan, a Life Scout with Troop 4010, is working toward earning the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Scouting. As part of that journey, each Eagle Scout candidate completes a community service project. Ryan has chosen to create a Fallen First Responder Memorial honoring Clarksville police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and other first responders who have dedicated their lives to serving the community.

The memorial will be outside of Town Hall and is planned as a permanent place for reflection and remembrance, recognizing the sacrifices made by those who answered the call to protect others.

To bring the project to life, Ryan is raising $7,500 to cover construction costs, including the monument, concrete and site preparation, benches, signage, landscaping, and other related expenses. Any funds raised beyond the project’s needs will be donated to organizations that support first responders.

“I am doing this project because first responders face dangers every day that most people never have to think about,” Ryan said. “When someone loses their life in the line of duty, they’ve made the ultimate sacrifice for their community. I want this memorial to be a lasting reminder of their bravery, dedication, and service.”

Community members who would like to support Ryan’s Eagle Scout project can donate through the GoFundMe link: https://bit.ly/4flqmt7  or contact him directly at 502-643-9551.

Every contribution helps move the memorial one step closer to becoming a reality.
