CLARKSVILLE, IN (March 10, 2022) – People across the globe are feeling the effects of increased costs for goods and services, and the energy industry is no different. Since the middle of 2021, market prices for coal, natural gas and purchased power have increased significantly and affect the cost of electricity.

Duke Energy wants to help its customers manage rising prices and reduce the impact on their utility bills. If members of your community are having trouble paying their energy expenses, assistance programs are available to help. Below are programs designed to help individuals and families pay their monthly electric bills.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
LIHEAP is an income-based program that allows those earning below certain thresholds to qualify for federal energy bill assistance.
