Coffee Conversations Baity

CLARKSVILLE, IN (February 28, 2022) – Increasing transparency within the Town of Clarksville. That was the idea behind the creation of the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s monthly “Coffee Conversations” program. The program was created in 2020 as a way for Town officials to have a casual conversations with residents outside of a traditional public meeting. Guest speakers are invited to provide updates on their departments or Town projects, and then residents are invited to ask questions.

The first events featured appearances by Clarksville Police Chief Mark Palmer and Clarksville Fire Chief Brandon Skaggs. Unfortunately, the program had to be put on hold due to the COVID-19 epidemic, but the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is bring the program back to life. The events are held at the Clarksville Community Center, and free coffee is provided. Admission is free and open to everyone.

The next “Coffee Conversations” event will be held on Tuesday, March 8th from 9:00-10:00am at the Clarksville Community Center, located at 2311 Sam Gwin Drive. This month’s guest speaker will be Clarksville Town Manager Kevin Baity. For the first time, the “Coffee Conversations” event will actually be streamed live on Facebook LIVE, so residents who can’t make it in-person will be able to watch and ask questions. Residents will be able to see that LIVE on the Town of Clarksville’s Facebook page.
