CLARKSVILLE, IN (September 9, 2021) – The COVID-19 epidemic prevented us from hosting the race in 2020, but the ClarkFEST “Run for the Kids” is back in 2021. The annual race, held each October, helps to raise money for the Clarksville “Shop with a Cop” program and the WHAS 11 Crusade for Children. All the money raised by the race is split evenly between these two organizations.

“Each year the community helps us raise thousands of dollars to help support the children of Clarksville and Southern Indiana,” said Town of Clarksville Communications Director Ken Conklin. “Since we could not hold the race and raise money for these charities last year, we can use all the help and runners we can get this year.”

This year’s race will be held on Saturday, October 9th, with the race beginning at 9:00am. It will start and end at the Clarksville Cove Family Aquatic Center parking lot, located at 800 S. Clark Boulevard. Each runner will receive a bib with timing chip and a t-shirt. There will also be awards for the top finishers and prizes for other participants. The fee to participate is $25 if you would like a short sleeve t-shirt, and $30 if you would prefer a long sleeve t-shirt.

“It doesn’t matter if you are a professional runner or a mom or dad who wants to push a stroller while walking,” said Conklin. “All that matters is that you come out and help us support local kids.”
