CLARKSVILLE, IN (March 15, 2023) – A project which forced the closure of Potters Lane in Clarksville is being extended for another two weeks. The project is part of a joint Wastewater/Stormwater project in the Parkwood Neighborhood closest to Lapping Park. The project was initially supposed to close the road on March 6th and reopen by March 13th. Now an unexpected delay means the road will remain closed, possibly through the end of the month.

Public Works Director Brad Cummings says that during the initial digging for the project, it was discovered that a sewer line serving two nearby senior living facilities was much closer to the project area than current GIS data showed. This discovery means crews would have to dig 26 feet deep to get around the sewer pipe, which will take additional time.

Cummings says crews are expected to be finish the portion of the project requiring road closures on or before March 30th. There will be additional work happening in the area but will not require the road to be closed. Lapping Park and Wooded View Golf Course are still accessible, but you must enter via Potters Lane, not Greentree North.
