CLARKSVILLE, IN (October 29, 2021) – The Town of Clarksville is getting ready to celebrate a historic moment in the Town’s history, and a giant step forward for the future. On Thursday, November 4, town officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Main Street in South Clarksville.
Since 2015, the Town of Clarksville has been working to bring life to the South Clarksville Redevelopment Plan, which calls for the development and revitalization of over 300 acres of dormant industrial land along its riverfront. Part of that plan called for the creation of a new Main Street, which involved the renaming and reconstruction of the former Woerner Avenue. Main Street now stretches from the old Colgate plant to Riverside Drive and the Ohio River.
The new Main Street runs directly in front of Cornerstone Group’s new Bolt + Tie mixed-use complex, as well as the future site of Denton Floyd’s Current 812, a $50 million dollar luxury apartment and retail complex. Clarksville officials are also working to demolish several nearby vacant buildings to make way for additional development. Further street and infrastructure improvements are also planned for the surrounding area. Town officials and local developers will celebrate this historic event with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, November 4th at 3:00pm. The event will be held on Main Street near the lobby entrance to Bolt + Tie.
