Clarksville Welcomes Seven New Firefighters

Clarksville Welcomes Seven New Firefighters

CLARKSVILLE, IN (October 10, 2024) – The Clarksville Fire Department continues to grow with the addition of seven newly trained firefighters.  The new members of the CFD were sworn-in by Judge Jimmie Guilfoyle during the most recent Town Council meeting.  Family and friends packed the Town Council Chambers for the special ceremony.  Once the firefighters were sworn-in, their family members were invited to pin their new badges to their uniforms.

Those firefighters began a 22-week course back in April and completed their training in August.  They covered topics such as the basics of Hazmat Awareness and Operations, Basic EMT and Advanced EMT, Firefighter 1 & 2, and a variety of online class such as: Technical Rescue Awareness, SIDS, Autism Awareness, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Rescue Task Force Awareness.  Clarksville’s new firefighters trained along several others including six from Tri-Township Fire Department and two from the Jeffersonville Fire Department.
