Clarksville Police Play Major Role in Multi-State Drug Bust, Over $40 Million in Assets Seized

CLARKSVILLE, IN (May 20, 2022) – Fifteen suspects are facing federal charges following one of the biggest drug cases ever involving the Clarksville Police Department.  The charges come after a week-long effort by federal agents, in conjunction with state and local law enforcement partners to arrest to arrest the charged defendants and seize drugs and drug proceeds.  10 suspects have been arrested, and 5 are still on the run.

“Our department became involved with this investigation in the beginning when it was a smaller case,” said Clarksville Police Chief Mark Palmer. “Over time it grew and grew to become one of the largest cases we’ve ever become involved in.”

Investigators say the suspects used commercial trucking and airplanes to ship tractor-trailer loads of marijuana to warehouses and other commercial locations in various states, including Indiana. As of today, authorities have seized nearly $40 million in drugs, alleged drug proceeds, and assets purchased with drug proceeds. Also seized were over three tons of marijuana and THC-containing products, valued at over $10 million, along with over a dozen firearms.

“With all the man hours we’ve invested in this case, it is rewarding and satisfying to see those involved being brought to justice,” said Palmer.
