CLARKSVILLE, IN (June 17, 2024) – Applications are now being accepted for Clarksville residents interested in serving on the 2024-2025 Clarksville Youth Council. Each year, Principals from Clarksville High School, Providence High School, Jeffersonville High School, and Silver Creek High School select two students to represent their schools on the Youth Council. The only requirement is that students are Clarksville residents. The Principals are expected to make their decision based on a student’s attendance, academics, and extracurricular activities.
Since beginning in 2021, the Clarksville Youth Council has accomplished some great things such as a completing a Youth Mental Health Awareness campaign, earning multiple grants for various causes, and advising the Clarksville Town Council on various important matters. The council meetings are held once a month for an hour or less. Serving on the Youth Council is a great achievement that can be included on college applications.
Area Principals are being asked to submit their selected students by August 1st, so students should email their completed Youth Council applications to their school as soon as possible. You can download the application by clicking here.
