CLARKSVILLE, IN (February 2, 2024) – In an exciting development for the youth soccer community, Southern Indiana United and the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announced their new partnership today. A shared effort that is poised to significantly contribute to the growth of soccer and youth sports in the region.

Southern Indiana United has a strong vision to become a model soccer club through its travel and recreational soccer programs, enabling players of all ages and abilities to reach their full potential. The club’s mission is not just in the development of players, coaches, referees, and teams; it is also emphasizing the role of continuous educational and training opportunities and the club’s overall commitment to community partnership and love for the game.

Clarksville Parks similarly mirrors its dedication to enriching the lives of its citizens by providing exceptional recreational facilities, preserving open natural spaces, and offering a wide range of programs. This commitment has enhanced the quality of life in Clarksville, and this new partnership will undoubtedly contribute further to this mission.

SIU’s mission is to develop players, coaches, referees, and teams through continuous educational and training opportunities.

Jeremy Kramer, Southern Indiana United President, says, “We are excited to grow soccer in the region by adding our new partnership with Clarksville Parks and Recreation. Our membership has seen explosive growth in Southern Indiana, and we hope that by partnering with Clarksville Parks and Recreation, we can help offer soccer programming to additional youth while expanding our footprint and expanding our field availability in the local area. A growing soccer program presents unique challenges to a non-profit like Southern Indiana United, and Clarksville Parks and Recreation offers us a great location and additional field availability, all while allowing us to live up to our name as Southern Indiana United!”

BJ Nelson, Parks Superintendent at Clarksville Parks and Recreation, echoes these sentiments: “This partnership will significantly boost our efforts to provide exceptional recreational opportunities to Clarksville’s citizens, enriching their lives and helping shape the future of our local youth sports culture.”

This collaboration will focus on innovatively enhancing youth soccer in the area, fostering a love for the game among younger players, and contributing to their overall physical, social, and psychological growth. Potentially, this partnership holds the promise of profound enrichment of local youth sports culture and the broader community.

Registration information for the collaborative youth soccer program will be released soon. For more details, visit siusoccer.com.
