Former NFL QB Drew Brees and Partners Bringing New Restaurant to Clarksville

Walk-On's Owners

CLARKSVILLE, IN (May 24, 2023) – The Town of Clarksville will soon be home to a new restaurant with ties to former NFL superstar Quarterback Drew Brees. Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux is a family-friendly sports bar and restaurant concept founded by Brandon Landry and Jack Warner in 2003. Work is currently underway to renovate the building at 970 E. Lewis and Clark Parkway, which formerly served as home to the Juicy Crab as well as Logan’s Roadhouse. There is no word yet on when the restaurant plans to open.

According to the company’s website, Brandon Landry and Jack Warner met as walk-on’s to the Louisiana State University (LSU) men’s basketball team in 1997. During their time playing together, the two developed a friendship and a joint dream of bringing a sports bar/restaurant to Baton Rouge, LA. They succeeded in opening their first Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in 2003, right next to LSU’s basketball arena. In 2012, the restaurant gained national prestige when ESPN named it the #1 sports bar in America. Just three years later, New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees joined the team as an investor and a co-owner.

When it comes to the atmosphere of the restaurant, the website states that the owners “worked hard over the years to create a restaurant and bar concept that pairs attention-to-detail and culinary excellence with a little Louisiana spice, pulling in that underdog mindset and hospitality, making you feel like family the moment you walk in.” As for the menu, it features a variety of Louisiana inspired dishes as well as sports bar type offerings that you would expect such as burgers, wings, and sandwiches.

The Clarksville restaurant will be the chain’s third Indiana location, with restaurants already established in downtown Indianapolis and on the campus of Purdue University, Drew Brees’ alma mater. To learn more about the restaurant chain or to get a look at the menu, click here.
