CLARKSVILLE, IN (October 13, 2022) – The Town of Clarksville is renewing efforts to protect those most at risk from extreme cold. Early next month, the Town Council will be hosting its second-annual “Warmth for Winter” clothing drive. On Friday, November 4th from 6:00-8:30pm, volunteers will be collecting new or gently used coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and blankets for those in need this winter. Donations may be dropped off at Clarksville’s Wooded View Golf Course, located at 2404 Greentree North.
This year’s drive will be a bit different in that it will be held at the same time as the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Fall Harvest Hayride. The fall event is held each year on the first Friday of November in Lapping Park. Residents will be invited to board a hay wagon at Wooded View Golf Course, enjoy a ride through Lapping Park, sing along to campfire music, and purchase s’mores kits to roast over the open fire. The cost of the hayride is just one canned-good per person, which will be donated to a local food bank.
