Position: Benefits Coordinator
Department: Town of Clarksville Human Resources Department
Location: 2000 Broadway, Clarksville, IN 47129
Status: Full-Time
Salary Range: Pays $19.76 per hour plus an excellent benefits package

This is a full-time administrative position necessary to help maintain centralized control over insurance obligations as well as administrative support for the Human Resources Director. This position must provide excellent customer service, be highly responsive, friendly and maintain confidentiality. The hours of operation will be 8:30-4:30 Monday through Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions
  • Administer direct processing of claims, billings and payments relate to health, dental, vision, life, automobile, property and liability and workers compensation
  • Maintains employee database and files
  • Maintains, operates, repairs and replaces equipment as necessary
  • Reconcile monthly invoices
  • Assists HR Director in employee performance reviews
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED (college preferred in health care management or other related field)
  • Minimum of three years relevant open enrollment/benefits experience
  • Ability to identify insurance coding
  • Familiarity with Federal and State rules, regulating and reporting requirements, including Cobra, HIPPA and FMLA laws
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets

Clarksville Public Works Department - General Laborer

Position: General Laborer
Department: Clarksville Public Works Department

Status: Full-Time
Salary Range: Starting pay of $30,846.40 to $31.928.00 plus an excellent benefits package

This position assists in a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the construction, street maintenance/repair of streets, sidewalks, storm drains and other related public works facilities, painting of traffic markings and street signs and right –a-way maintenance, housekeeping, sanitation collection and operate light and moderately heavy power driven equipment. General laborers are often required to work outside in all types of weather related conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Debris removal from streets and other related public works facilities
  • Dig holes, Cut trenches, Load and transport equipment
  • Prepare surfaces for paving
  • Maintains, operates, repairs and replaces equipment as necessary
  • Install street signs, Paint traffic markings
  • Collection of residential trash
  • Operate street sweeper, chipper, commercial mowers and other power driven equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and follow all safety guide lines

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License, prefer Class A with “N” endorsement, but Class B with Air Brakes is the minimum required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and back ground check
  • Basic computer skills
  • Available for on-call and week-end work

Position: Wastewater Collection System Laborer
Department: Clarksville Wastewater Treatment Department
Location: 1 Leuthart Drive, Clarksville, IN
Status: Full-Time

This position assists with operating, maintaining and repairing facilities of the wastewater collection system and pump stations to ensure the safety and efficient transfer of wastewater through the Town’s system.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reports issues to the Collections System Lead Operator
  • Monitors the performance of all equipment in the pump stations
  • Maintains malfunctions in the collections system and lift stations equipment
  • Maintains, operates, repairs and replaces equipment as necessary
  • Cleans wet wells
  • Operate pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment process

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid Indiana CDL driver’s license with Tanker Endorsement
  • Basic computer skills
  • Available for on-call and overtime
  • Previous wastewater experience is desirable
  • Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form on all matters relating to the wastewater collection system process

Clarksville Police Department - Records Clerk


The Clarksville Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Records Clerk.

The Clarksville Police Department is seeking to fill the position of a full time Records Clerk. The Records Clerk position exists to provide support to the police department and is responsible for the collection, processing and dissemination of all reports of Criminal, Traffic and Service related activity as submitted by all units of the Clarksville Police Department.

Classification Responsibilities
  • Processing, filing, maintaining, retrieving and distributing police reports and related confidential information. This person must exercise good judgment in handling, processing and supplying information to the public, sworn officers, and other law enforcement agencies.
  • Answering inquiries via telephone, email, mail and fax which typically involves locating records, explaining procedures to the general public or providing information to other law enforcement agencies.
  • Handling a public counter which involves processing public records requests, tow releases, gun permit applications and handling fees for various services provided.

Essential Functions
As a records clerk you must be able to clearly communicate with sworn officers, other department personnel, the general public and other law enforcement agencies with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence structure, punctuation, and grammar. You must follow verbal and written instructions, learn departmental objectives, policies, procedures and terminology as well as the policies and procedures of the Town of Clarksville.

All applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Hold a High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Any combination of training, education and experience equivalent to 1 - 3 years of office clerical experience
  • Must have a basic knowledge of operation a Records Management software application; preferably Law Enforcement related, New World, ITI and basic knowledge of IDACS/NCIC
  • Because of the safety and/or security sensitive nature of this classification, individuals shall be subject to pre-employment drug screen as outlined in the Town of Clarksville's policy and procedures handbook
  • Functional understanding and previous exposure to modern office equipment and machines
  • Practical or trained knowledge of business English and letter forms
